Tea and ritual. Possibly two words that are rarely heard in the same sentence, yet in many Asian cultures these two go hand in hand. In these lands, the ceremonial preparation of tea and the way in which it is presented is done so with reverence and humility.
In a world that is so faced paced, so action driven, so BUSY, we have forgotten what it is like to enjoy the simple things in life, such as good tea! My vision for the teas I have created is to bring that ritualistic aspect of enjoying tea back into everyday life.
When I brew a pot of tea and I take the cup to my lips, I slow down and take the time to really consider the healing herbs and botanicals I am taking into my body and giving thanks for this incredible elixir gifted by the plant kingdom. I become completely relaxed and present, taking time to identify the aromas, what I can taste and how it makes me feel. I become content with the comfort and nurturing the tea I am drinking provides me and am grateful for its nourishment.
I consider what pot I will infuse my tea in, my favourite being glass as I can watch the infusion unfold in a beautiful little botanical world of its own! I also ensure I use tea cups that I love drinking out of. My favourite being handmade pottery cups with unique character and stories to tell! Its all part of my own personal tea ritual. You can create your own tea ritual.
Whether that is enjoying a tea in a warm bath surrounded by candles in the evening, or perhaps it could be drinking a beautiful relaxing blend before meditation (our Ether blend is great for this!), or you may choose to sit in your garden in the sunshine surrounded by plants and nature, with gratitude for the fact that you are taking nature itself into your own body and allowing that energy to fill each cell with effervescence! Whatever you choose to do, make Tea a delectable and delicious ritual!
